I used Google Maps for years before using the “saved places” feature. Now I use it a lot:

• I save places that I frequent.
• When planning a trip, I make a saved list and share it with others on the trip. This is really convenient when you’re visiting a city and want to plan a bit in advance without scripting everything, because you can see places near you that you still want to visit.
