Hack: Weekend Food Prep
On the weekend, I like to get fresh fruit and vegetables for the week, and then prep the food so it is easy to cook with or snack on. For instance:
- Bell peppers: Wash, core, seed, and slice.
- Carrots: Buy precut or cut them into pieces for snacks.
- Grapes: Wash and pick them off the stems.
- Pineapple: Cut it up.
I often then store the food in Pyrex containers in the fridge.
With this prep done, it is easier to make dinners during the week, as the ingredients are prepped. It is also easier to eat healthy snacks, because these foods are now just as easy to reach for as preprocessed food that is less healthy.
I got this idea from James Clear in Atomic Habits.
